Courses Overview

This engaging 1st Grade English Language Arts course strengthens reading and writing skills through systematic phonics instruction while fostering a lifelong love of literature. Students continue developing essential literacy skills, including phonics, decoding, spelling patterns, sight words, fluency, and reading accuracy.

As students become more confident readers, they apply these skills through rich story-based learning experiences that include guided reading, read-alouds, discussions, and literature activities. These experiences strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary, critical thinking, and communication skills while encouraging students to make meaningful connections with texts.

Students also develop handwriting, sentence writing, speaking, and listening skills through interactive lessons and collaborative activities. This live online course provides a supportive and engaging learning environment that helps first graders become confident, independent readers and writers.
