Courses Overview

This 8th-grade social studies course explores US history from the founding of the Republic to the late 19th century, meeting California social studies standards. Key topics include the American Revolution, the Civil War, the Louisiana Purchase, and the Industrial Revolution. Students examine historical documents, as well as key events, figures, and themes. Project-based learning provides a learning experience that emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, and reflection.
