What inspired you to become a teacher, and what do you enjoy most about teaching your subject?
I have always been passionate about both education and literature. Teaching Language Arts has rewarded me with the ability to help students excel not only academically but also cognitively. I learn so much from all my students, and I am most grateful for that.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of the classroom?
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading for pleasure, writing, playing my guitar, and watching classic films with my husband. I enjoy cooking and wish I had more time to do so! I also love going to the beach with my dog, Princess Zelda, and spoiling her as much as possible.
What was your favorite subject in school and why?
My favorite subject in school was always English because of the variety of works that I was exposed to. I have always felt the closest to my English teachers because they made me feel comfortable as the classroom was always a safe space to express, learn and grow. I always wanted to become one of those teachers.
Anything else we should know about you?
I am very excited about the upcoming school year and to meet all the new students!
