What inspired you to become a teacher, and what do you enjoy most about teaching your subject?

I’ve always felt drawn to education because of the meaningful impact teachers can have on the lives of their students. From an early age, I enjoyed helping others learn, which naturally developed into a passion for teaching. What continues to inspire me is the opportunity to build authentic connections with students and create a learning environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and encouraged to take risks.

I find great fulfillment in helping students uncover their strengths and develop a curiosity for learning that extends beyond the classroom. I also enjoy fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills, encouraging students to see learning as a lifelong journey rather than a destination. Watching them grow, academically, socially, and personally, reminds me why I chose this profession and reinforces my commitment to education every day.

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of the classroom?

I am incredibly creative and enjoy expressing it through home décor, especially by designing spaces that reflect the changing seasons. I also love visiting antique shops and finding unique pieces that tell a story. In my free time, I enjoy reading, painting, drawing, and spending time outdoors with my husband, daughter, and our dog.

What was your favorite subject in school and why?

My favorite subject in school was English Language Arts. I’ve always loved getting lost in a good book and using my imagination to create my own stories. Reading and writing have allowed me to explore new perspectives and express myself creatively, which continues to inspire my work with students today.

Anything else we should know about you?

I am a dedicated educator and a proud mother to my daughter, whom I homeschool. This experience has deepened my understanding of individualized learning and the importance of fostering curiosity and confidence in students. I am deeply committed to supporting the success of every student and family I work with, and I strive to create meaningful connections that promote growth both inside and outside the classroom.
