Adjustments Due to Weather and Fire Conditions

We hope this message finds you safe and well. Due to the serious weather and fire conditions in LA County, some of our teachers, students, and families are experiencing evacuations or are under the possibility of evacuations.

As a result, there may be course cancellations or substitute instructors for some classes over the next few days. We understand if your student is unable to attend class during this challenging time. Please know that we will provide recorded videos for any non-canceled classes your student missed to ensure continuity in learning.

For tutoring students, families will be notified via email or text if a tutor needs to cancel. If your student cannot attend a session, please cancel if possible.

We understand the challenges posed by these severe conditions, and sessions missed due to these circumstances can be rescheduled, provided the tutor can accommodate.

The safety and well-being of our community are our top priorities. If you have any concerns or need additional support, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Stay safe, and thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

Constance Otis

Teacher

Salutations! My name is Constance Otis. I am a World History teacher with Branches Learning. I have been a Social Studies teacher for the past 5 years in the classroom and 2 in which I have had the pleasure to work virtually!

What inspired you to become a teacher, and what do you enjoy most about teaching your subject?

It is my passion to connect students to the past and present while helping them find their inner strengths and creativity.

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of the classroom?

Outside of class you can find me enjoying the great outdoors with my 10 year old Puggle Opie or enjoying the presence of family and friends.

Anything else we should know about you?

I have a background with American Sign Language

I look forward to teach and be a part of this community for the 2024-2025 school year!
