What inspired you to become a teacher, and what do you enjoy most about teaching your subject?
I was inspired by becoming a tutor because I think it is a great way to give back to the community and a good way to help kids succeed in the classroom. I enjoy seeing the excitement when they are doing well with their school work. I love being around kids of all ages.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of the classroom?
I love to spend my free time with family and friends. I enjoy spending time in the mountains fishing, boating, and hiking.
What was your favorite subject in school and why?
My favorite subject in school was science. I loved science because it was very interesting and had so many different branches to learn about. Whether it was how the planets move, how to spot all the stars in the sky, why things fall, or how our bodies function. One thing I loved about science is it brought curiosity and questions to the table.
Anything else we should know about you?
I am from Montana. I went to the University of Montana and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Integrative Physiology and a Masters degree in Athletic Training. I love working with kids of all ages and watching them grow. I struggled in school myself and my experiences with tutoring helped me succeed. Tutoring helped me gain confidence and grasp a better understanding of the material I was learning. College really taught me a lot and gave me the experience to be a Teacher Assistant for an Anatomy Lab course. Being able to help others is something I really enjoy doing.
