What inspired you to become a teacher, and what do you enjoy most about teaching your subject?
I came into teaching during the covid pandemic through an outreach program to public schools in my area. From that experience I discovered my love for education, specifically in the sciences. I really enjoy connecting with students and finding out how to best encourage learning in each individual. Science is all about asking questions; so my favorite part of teaching it is being able to create that spark of curiosity in students.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of the classroom?
Outside of the classroom, I love to spend time outdoors whenever possible. This could be working in my garden, taking a walk around the neighborhood, or camping up the North Shore. I also love to bake, crochet and read.
What was your favorite subject in school and why?
My favorite subject in school was always history because it was like reading a lot of short stories that all fit together. I enjoyed learning about how things came to be in this present day.
