Newsroom provides high school students with a real-life learning opportunity where they sharpen their writing abilities in an engaging and meaningful manner. Our Correspondents delve into different types of writing, including reviews, informative essays, narratives, interviews, and creative pieces. While fulfilling specific writing requirements, students can select topics of interest. Articles go through three phases of editing: self, peer, and professional. Reporters are responsible for meeting work deadlines.
While high school students collaborate, elementary and middle school students meet with their peers to work on other submissions. At the end of the semester, submissions are compiled to create an impressive student publication with articles, columns, artwork, and additional pieces reporters choose to add. The publishing experience gives students a reason to write and motivates them to produce their best work!
