Social Studies, Grade 2

Courses Overview

This 2nd-grade project-based social studies course inspires students to explore the lives of historical and modern-day heroes, compare and contrast family life over decades, develop map skills, and understand basic government and economic systems.

In this course, students will:

  • Create a family tree to learn more about their ancestors and heritage
  • Work to make a difference in their community by learning about their role in government
  • Create maps and brochures to explore the geography of the world
  • Learn about modern and historical heroes and how they have changed our world
  • Develop critical thinking skills through projects and reflections
