Adjustments Due to Weather and Fire Conditions

We hope this message finds you safe and well. Due to the serious weather and fire conditions in LA County, some of our teachers, students, and families are experiencing evacuations or are under the possibility of evacuations.

As a result, there may be course cancellations or substitute instructors for some classes over the next few days. We understand if your student is unable to attend class during this challenging time. Please know that we will provide recorded videos for any non-canceled classes your student missed to ensure continuity in learning.

For tutoring students, families will be notified via email or text if a tutor needs to cancel. If your student cannot attend a session, please cancel if possible.

We understand the challenges posed by these severe conditions, and sessions missed due to these circumstances can be rescheduled, provided the tutor can accommodate.

The safety and well-being of our community are our top priorities. If you have any concerns or need additional support, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Stay safe, and thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

What inspired you to become a teacher, and what do you enjoy most about teaching your subject?

I enjoy the creativity that comes with teaching, I love finding what makes each child enjoy learning and finding what makes each one tick. I love sharing my love on history and Social studies with the students and the wonder of science.

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of the classroom?

I LOVE being outdoors! I love to ride horses, work on our farm, garden, boat , swim and hike in the summer. In the winter I love to ski, sled, ice skate and when I get cold I come inside and read, bake, cook, play cards and do some crafts.

What was your favorite subject in school and why?

Reading and history, are my favorite. If you have a book with you, you are never bored. History is just one big story about how we got to where we are today. History is full of adventure, intrigue and the good, the bad and the ugly, all that makes for a great story to read!

Anything else we should know about you?

I have been teaching form many years and I still get excited before the first day of school!! What a great job to have!
