Courses Overview

Seventh-grade English Language Arts builds students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking. Using a range of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and multimedia texts, students analyze themes, arguments, grammar, and more while expanding their vocabulary and comprehension. They write narrative, argumentative, and informative essays with increasing clarity and structure, using evidence to support their ideas. Students also practice speaking and listening through discussions and presentations. The course emphasizes close reading, clear writing, and thoughtful communication aligned with Common Core standards.
